“four years can make or break a lot of relationships and attributes you once thought permanent in your life, so always be aware of those around you and how your actions shape your future in any way, major or minor.”

"Currently, i’m going into my second year at FIU pursuing computer science and also balancing a plethora of life and career expectations, but still finding ways to learn much more about my field of interest and work towards my long term goals."
Former SGM (22-23 SY)
Emily Ramtahal
"Hello, my name is Emily Ramtahal. I was the SGM for the 2022/2023 school year. I am now a sophomore in college attending Nova SouthEastern University studying Biology on the Pre - Medicine track. The JROTC program has shaped me to become more disciplined and determined, when it comes to goals I want to accomplish. Some words of advice I would like to share is, never say “ I can’t “. As long as you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything!"

Former S-2 (23-24 SY)
Makayla Bodie
"Hey slayyyss, as someone who recently graduated, here are some words of advice. High school comes with many experiences that you can't control and all you can do is learn from them and move forward. It is okay to make mistakes but to grow as a person you have to learn to own up to them and make better decisions in the future. and finally, be mindful of who you surround yourself with, everyone doesn't always have good intentions.
JROTC has shown me that you can conquer any obstacle that comes your way and I will forever be grateful for that."

"JROTC has been one of the best drastic changes in my life. Although I only joined my junior year, it has change me both mentally and physically, it has improved my teamwork, time management, and social skills. During raiders, I felt as though it was hard to continue but thanks to Chief Porter and my teammates, I stayed motivated and kept going. In JROTC, I have created bonds with amazing people who I know will do amazing things thanks to this program. For this upcoming year, I am joining the Army National Guard, as well as going to college to pursue nursing. "
Former BXO (22-23 & 23-24 SY)
Evelyn Contreras
"Joining JROTC has been vital in developing my leadership skills and opening up numerous opportunities for personal growth. I urge others to listen to their company leadership and embrace the chance to forge lasting friendships. Building connections is invaluable, as some of these bonds will endure a lifetime. Looking ahead, I aspire to attend FIU to study Biological Sciences and eventually pursue medical school with the goal of becoming a pediatrician."

"Focus of improving yourself not proving yourself.
My immediate goal is to pursue a collegiate track and field career at a university in Florida or Texas, ideally on a full athletic scholarship. I aim to excel in the 200m and 400m events, ultimately aspiring to compete professionally. I am also dedicated to developing my musical talent as a singer. I believe my dual passions for athletics and music create a unique action, allowing me to stand out in both fields. I am confident that by pursuing these goals with a diligent commitment, I will achieve recognition and success within myself.
JROTC has shaped me into a very strong , independent, hardworking, likeminded, person. When i first joined the program i thought we were actually going to go into war and surprisingly I was not afraid to do so. As i learned more about the program my interest in it only grew stronger for it. The physical and mental events that we had to compete in will always have a special place in my heart because those were the times where I could show off my handwork. Although those times were always the best times but thats were the whole aspect of life comes into play because without those bad times there would be no improving on what needed to get done to because a better version of myself. So I thank JROTC for all of the great memories and opportunity’s that it has presented and given to me to excel with as I start a new chapter in my life. But i’ll be back :)"
